The pictures are bright and colorful. It shares how all families are made up differently and even though they may not look the same they are still loved and wanted. IT's light and simple way of sharing with a young child about how they were adopted. Age 3-5 Source Barnes and Noble From someone with hopes to adopt in the future, this book brings great joy to the subject. Sometimes adopting has a bad stigma. For example, people often think of the poor child that was left behind by their other parents. In reality, because of adoption it helps complete a family. I think adoption is one of the most beautiful things one can do in life. This story begins by showing the parents journey towards adopting a child. They are seen getting the room ready and then traveling to get the child. They feel blessed and happy to finally be able to have a child. Their family was born on this happy adoption day. The child is seen learning to do things with the parents and is told that no matter what they will always have a home in the parent’s heart. There is love in their home no matter what and just because they are different does not change how they think of their child. The parents are praising the child "so its here's to you and three cheers to you!", Oh happy adoption day". This book is an amazing book about adoption. I really enjoyed it and would read it to any child but also children that are adopted. I really like the quote in the book "No matter the skin, we are all of us kin- we are all of us one family". This is a very deep quote in my opinion. This child is being brought into this house and accepted no matter what. This can help children who have been adopted or are newly adopted. It can give the children hope about their adoption and help them accept it. At the end of the book there is the Happy Adoption Day! song which can be sung by adopted children and their parents, it can become a family motto. The last two pages of the books are pictures of the family showing how happy they are together, and this can be a message to children. Skin color and differences do not matter, love is what matters. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
