This animal A-Z book is a great supplemental read to an early childhood class. I have read several books from this series by Priddy Books. I have loved all the ones I have shared with my class. The cover of the book really draws in the reader. It has an image of a koala bear with the title in big bold red letters. When they open the book, their eyes are drawn to the real- life pictures of several animals they will see throughout the book. The pages have big colorful text to allow for easy reading of younger students. The real-life pictures and interesting information about the animals kept my students engaged in the book. Every time I turned the page, they would shrill with excitement about the animal. They couldn't wait to hear what that animals story was about. The information given is just enough to satisfy their curiosity. The book contains a glossary with words they may not be familiar with. The word is in bold black letters and highlighted with different colors such as pink, blue, purple, etc. the definition are simple enough for a younger child. I am just so pleased with the reaction of the students with the books from this publishing company. I would highly recommend these books for a preschool or kindergarten class.
