In other ways, the plot mirrored the one in the previous book in this series (the only other one of the series that I've read) despite being a different author. I knew the granddaughter would turn out to be one of two teens from the group--I wasn't really sure which one it would be until it was revealed, but as soon as the author said Marie's baby had been adopted I knew that would be plot point.
I didn't find the search about the stocks as interesting as the one about the letters from the previous book. I'm also confused since Susan was supposed to be such a good friend of Annie's that she's not mentioned at all in this book nor is her husband Tom who was the "other handyman" in town. Wally has a new helper in this book. (
