A story about a blind boy named Charles who can do everything everyone else can, just without seeing it. Anna Maria likes to help Charles even when he does not need it. One day Charles returns the favor by getting them out of a dark room where they were not supposed to be. In the end, Charles saved the day. This can show students that their blind classmates are just like them and can do everything they do and sometimes more.

This book deals with a new student named Charles. He is a blind student and other students are overly aware of his disability. They treat him a little different at first until a little accident helps the students realize how amazing he as a student and a friend. ( )

This is an adorable book. Charles is a new boy at school and because he is blind the other students aren't sure what to do. Should they treat him different or should they treat him the same as everyone else. One day Charles and two of his classmates get trapped in a dark room and the other tow students don't know what to do. However, Charles is blind so being in the dark does not hinder him so he is able to find the door and get the other children out of the room. The children finally learn that even though Charles is different he still just a kid like them. This would be a good book for children to learn about how differences aren't bad or scary and can sometime be helpful. ( )

This book is about a class that has a blind boy named Charles in the classroom. At first, the children are unsure about Charles, but soon they start wanting to help him out. The children do different kinds of projects like math with blocks and making stuff with clay and it shows how Charles completes these tasks. Later, at recess, Danny, another classmate, leads Charles into a dark room. Anna Maria, also another classmate, follows and they are trapped after the door closes on them. They are afraid because they cant see where the door is, but thanks to Charles, they found the door and got out. At the end of the book, the children are excited to play with Charles again the next day.

I like this book for it shows children how to help out a person with a disability. It also shows them they are friendly and nice to play with. The artwork is cute, almost like a comic strip and I enjoyed the sayings of the children for it was about the same as what an actually kid might say.

This is a good book to read to children if they have a classmate with a disability or if they know someone in the school with a disability. It shows them to be nice to them and try to be their friend.
