Due to Hannah's religion she is unable to ride in a car on Saturdays. Thankfully she has many friends who are willing to walk to the park with her where their class picnic is going to take place. Ages: 5-9.

This book is about a little girl who wants to go to a picnic with her class but because of her family's religion she is not able to go to. She goes through many steps to make a friend and to go to the picnic with even though she is afraid her friends with make fun of her. 4-6

Hannah struggles with being the only Jewish child in her class and having to work around her families religious beliefs to make it to a class event. Best for kids 4-5 years old. ( )

“Hannah’s Way” is a story about a Jewish girl, named Hannah, who is not allowed to ride in cars on Saturdays because of her faith. She becomes very disheartened because her class is having a picnic and she doesn’t think she will be able to come. Embarrassed for the reason WHY she can’t come, he doesn’t want to tell her teacher about her predicament, but she musters up the courage to stand tall in what she believes and lets her class know! To her surprise all her classmates want to walk with her so she wouldn't feel alone. This book very much allows students to learn about others who differ from themselves and value this diversity. The illustrations are beautiful, realistic, and fit in well with the theme and context of the story. I would recommend this book for older age children, around 6-8 years of age.
