characters felt really immature to me. didn't enjoy this as much as previous installments. ( )

Pretty good.

Got off to a bad start, looked pretty questionable but then the plot picked up into high gear the last third of the book and ended with a rousing finish.

Sarah Forrester, the Golden Lady, is supposed to be happy as the toast of the ton, but she's built a facade and then her old childhood friend, Naval Lieutenant Jackson Fletcher shows up on the scene. His future looks bleak, as his ship is likely to be de-commissioned and he'll be put on half pay.

But a bungled attempt at romance with a fake moustache puts him and Sarah on a much different path.

Another good entry in the Blue Raven series. ( )

DNF - While I understood the reasons for the heroine's behavior, I could not connect to her (or excuse the way she was acting).

Sarah Forrester was thrilled to be engaged to Jason. But when he realizes that he loves another, she becomes The Girl Who Lost a Duke. Rather than put up with society's pity any longer, she reinvents herself as the Golden Lady. But it comes with a price.
Lieutenant Jackson Fletcher returns from nine years at sea, hoping that his damaged ship will not be decommissioned. He renews his acquaintance with the Forresters and is invited to stay with them while he waits for word on his ship, and his future. He is shocked and saddened by the change in Sarah, and sets out to change her back. The plot he hatches lands them both in the middle of dangerous plots.

Fun and romantic. ( )
