Take one aspiring cook, one judge, and a spoonful of romance... When Zoe Harper wins a coveted place in a televised cookery competition she's thrilled. It's a chance to cook her way to fame and fortune and the little delicatessen she's set her heart on. The first task has hardly begun when she finds herself with rather too much on her plate. Not only has she got to contend with the fiercely competitive and downright devious Cher, but she's fast developing an inconvenient crush on one of the judges - the truly delicious Gideon Irving. All too soon there's more than canapes, cupcakes and cordon bleu at stake. Will Zoe win the competition or is Gideon one temptation too far? And is Zoe really prepared to risk it all for love?… (meer)

My favourite author for holiday reading ( )

Recipe for Love is a warm comforting romance that is easy to love. Zoe has won a spot in a cooking competition & has dreams of winning the prize & opening her own deli. Gideon is a judge for the completion. Any romance between the two is against the rules but they can't stay away from each other.

Katie has a warm sweet writing style that invites you into the book & along for the journey. The plot moves fairly quickly with a combination of drama, romance & quick breezy wit. It was a lighthearted quick HEA that was enjoyable to read. I would recommend it for anyone interested in a simple quick read without a lot of heavy drama.

I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest opinion. ( )

I received an ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley.

Zoe is one of ten contestants in a MasterChef style competition, which is going to be televised with the winner receiving a money prize. Most of the rounds are being held at Symons House, which is owned by a very pregnant Fenella and her husband Rupert. Arriving early, Zoe rescues Gideon, one of the judges, from a ditch and and is then roped into helping Fenella out in the kitchen.

My favourite thing about this book was the sections dealing with the cooking competition, which were surprisingly interesting. Cher was an enterprising baddie, although she got to be a bit much (and Rupert's parents were too much from the moment they appeared on the page).

The rest of it was a bit lacking somehow. Zoe and Gideon fell deeply in love after being in each other's company approximately three times and despite the fact that they knew nothing about each other at all and seemed incapable of having meaningful, informative conversations. In this day and age, it is beyond belief that they didn't even manage to exchange cell phone numbers. There there was Symons House, which hosted cooking competitors and weddings, despite having four habitable rooms. Fenella, although clearly intended to be a lovely character, took advantage of Zoe time and time again. Zoe, having just met Fenella, became her bestest friend overnight and practically moved in. Gideon clearly didn't see what could possibly be the problem with sleeping with one of the contestants.

Reasonably entertaining if you don't take it too seriously. ( )

Zoe is competing in a cooking contest. There she meets Gideon, one of the judges. She almost immediately falls in love with him. But she can't start a relation with him, right?

Katie Ffordes books are always a lot of fun to read. They are perfect for those rainy days when everything sucks, they'll make you instant happy! ( )

I would have enjoyed this more if I could have liked the main character. See my review http://www.dnsmedia.co.uk/reviews/view/1144 ( )
