"Olympics: From Ancient Greece to the Present Day" by Richard Platt is an informational book about the history of the Olympics. The book has a timeline of all Olympics, a map of where they took place, and more detailed information about the Olympics during Greek times as well as present-day. I thought this book was very good. It isn't text-heavy, and the text that is there is concise and gives good information. The illustrations in the book give a lot of meaning and knowledge because most of the sports are drawn out in detail. It is a good informational book for children because there are not big paragraphs or a lot of text, and much of the information is shown through illustrations and captions. This book could be used in a class to learn about a different Olympics every day, or someone who wanted to know about all of the Olympics could read it. Maybe it could be read from every few days when the Olympics are happening as part of a bigger project about the Olympics. Media: colored pencil. ( ) geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
