It gives a very brief overview of star facts and then devotes two pages to each constellation covered in the book. This includes large pictures of what the star groups actually look like and what the ancients imagined they looked like. Each constellation's name is explained, along with a brief fact or two about it as well as a "gazing guide" for where to find it in the sky. This is a good overview to share with kids getting interested in astronomy. My kindergarten class pored over this book several times, checking out each and every picture. They also used the pictures in this book to replicate the constellation patterns on black construction paper, which we then poked holes in where the stars are and shone a flashlight behind to make the stars twinkle!
