Jonathan Covington was Alanna's first love and is now running a business on the island. Since their houses are right next door to each other, it was bound to happen that they would run into each other. So begins a rekindling of a romance between them that never really went away. But there are still secrets on the island about that terrible tragedy years ago, and Alanna is out to solve them. It will bring about danger and stir up memories many don't want stirred up.
This story was very well told and had it all; mystery, suspense, romance, and getting to feel like you are on Mackinac Island (which I have and would love to go back). But for some reason the whole story and the two main characters never "clicked" with me. I read it, felt like it was a good story, but never got caught up in it. It wasn't, "I can't put the book down because it is so good" kind of story for me. But I did enjoy picturing in my mind the island life that I loved so much when I visited the island years ago. ( )
