Perhaps I should just copy and paste one of my past reviews of these read along books, because my reaction is basically the same to all of them. The stories are always based on a movie or television show, and are basic abridged versions of the story, in print form. The books come with a CD, so you can listen to them, or listen to them and follow along in the book. The reason we bought so many of these is because we were planning a road trip with our girls, and this combination of book with audio was a perfect activity for on the road. In this case, the story is from Wreck-It Ralph, a movie I particularly love. Reading and listening to the book, then, was fun for me, because it recycles material from a familiar and loved story. The addition of actual dialogue from the movie and sound effects enhanced the experience. And since I have rambled about the contents of the book more than my reaction, then to clarify, my feeling about these books is that I love the complete package of listening and reading the story, and the illustrations are always high quality, all of which compensates for the just adequate writing.
