I didn't really enjoy any part of the book, which is sad because I thought I'd like it. I figured out who the bad guy was pretty quickly although not all of the nuances of the situation - most but not all. I felt that the romance wasn't strong enough to overcome my frustration with the way the stalker/religious fanatic story arc was handled. Just not a good experience for me. ( )

This story is about Parker and Sydney. Parker is a Tennis star who has just gotten done winning Wimbledon and goes down to her secluded house on the beach so that she can prepare for the only Major Championship she hasn't won, the US Open. Next door is Sydney. She's a commercial pilot who's just broken up with her girlfriend, gotten a new route to fly, and goes on vacation to be alone and get her head right. Instead she meets Parker, and they have a whirlwind, twisty, turny relationship.

Part of the drama of the novel also comes from the fact that Parker is receiving threats from a person or group of people who call themselves (or him or herself) 'Soldier of God'. I do sorta wish that I'd been more surprised at that twist of the story, but, I've read a lot, and to me, where that story went was not surprising at all.

Still, overall I liked the novel. Part of that is because I'm a sucker for books about characters who either play tennis or another sport. I also liked who the author got the main plot of the story going first before she jumped into the 'Soldier of God' secondary story. I also really liked the characters. They were super unique and I'd definitely love to read a book that focuses more on Parker's sisters Gray or Kimmie. ( )
