I need to re-read this again. It seemed like it went between a picture story to a telling story. Some of the vocabulary was a bit off. Not sure who I would read it too in parts....the kiddo or the parent. The blurb on Goodreads is not right either...how Ellie has a sensory disorder that is "easily fixed." Haven't seen that happen personally. Usually it is not an easy fix. ( )

This is the story of a young girl name Ellie, who was born with a sensory disorder. People think that she is just overreacting about things, but it is not until her family takes her to see a specialist that they find out it is because of the sensory disorder. She learned ways to help cope with this order from the specialist, and it is at this point that she is finally able to start clearly conveying her feelings and thoughts. This book would be great for parents, teachers and students to read. I would use this book to show children that we are all different and that different is not bad. ( )

This book is needed. I am so glad to have found this book. This story is the perfect way to introduce SPD to those who aren't familiar with it, including adults and children. This story goes through Ellie's days and how people think she is difficult, when she has a sensory issue. This book will allow kids with SPD to relate to Ellie on a personal level. ( )
