Complete, Unabridged Guide to Freemasonry. Get the information you need--fast This comprehensive guide offers a thorough view of key knowledge and detailed insight. It's all you need. Here's part of the content - you would like to know it all? Delve into this book today .....: Freemasonry now exists in various forms all over the world, with a membership estimated at around six million, including approximately 150,000 under the jurisdictions of the Grand Lodge of Scotland and Grand Lodge of Ireland, over a quarter of a million under the jurisdiction of the United Grand Lodge of England, and just under two million in the United States. ...However, many lodges could not endorse changes which the GLE made to the ritual in the wake of printed exposures, and formed a rival Grand Lodge on 17 July 1751, which they called the Most Ancient and Honourable Society of Free and Accepted Masons according to the Old Institutions, better known as the Antient Grand Lodge of England. ...Content which may appear in at least one of the three obligations includes: the candidate promises to act in a manner befitting a member of civilised society, promises to obey the law of his Supreme Being, promises to obey the law of his sovereign state, promises to attend his lodge if he is able, promises not to wrong, cheat nor defraud the Lodge or the brethren, and promises aid or charity to a member of the human family, brethren and their families in times of need if it can be done without causing financial harm to himself or his dependents. ...However, the matter was clarified when Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger (later Pope Benedict XVI), as the Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, issued a Declaration on Masonic Associations, which states: . . . the Church's negative judgment in regard to Masonic association remains unchanged since their principles have always been considered irreconcilable with the doctrine of the Church and therefore membership in them remains forbidden. There is absolutely nothing that isn't thoroughly covered in the book. It is straightforward, and does an excellent job of explaining all about Freemasonry in key topics and material. There is no reason to invest in any other materials to learn about Freemasonry. You'll understand it all.Inside the Guide: Freemasonry, Grande Loge Nationale Francaise, Grand Orient de France, Grand Master (Masonic), Grand Lodge of Scotland, Grand Lodge of Ireland, Grand Lodge, Grand College of Rites, George Washington, Geoffrey Fisher, Freemasons' Hall, London, Freemasonry and women, Fraternity, Franz Six, Forget-me-not, Eye of Providence, Esotericism, Elizabeth Aldworth, Detroit Masonic Temple, Declaration on Masonic Associations, DeMolay International, Cryptic Masonry, Continental Freemasonry, Co-Freemasonry, Blackballing, Bernard Francis Law, Benjamin Franklin, Antient Grand Lodge of England, Anti-Masonry, Anti-Masonic Party, Albert Pike, Albert Mackey, Ahiman Rezon, Ab Apostolici, A.J.E.F.… (meer)

This is, sadly, a classic example of what used to be called "Vanity Publishing". The major parts of a 'customary' book are missing (Introduction, facts about the author, etc.) but moreover, the pictures which were (clearly) destined to appear do not. Instead, an entry titled "Pictures" lists them all. Not very helpful for elaborating on this series of unrelated encyclopedia-like entries which fall far short in the field of scholarship or research. Some entries look like they were cribbed from current websites and there's no compelling reason to buy or use this particular book. Even the spine is completely blank. It's really sad. Unless this is your first day learning about Freemasonry, it'd doubtful you'll find much of value and you'd be far better off with a "Dummies" or "Idiots" volume for much more comprehensive knowledge which has at least been written with a purpose. Sad.... ( )
