Navy SEAL Lieutenant Blake Landon is grieving the loss of a teammate and isn’t interested in a relationship. Neither of these facts can stop the intense chemistry and steamy passion that sizzles between them.

The delightful characters and engaging premise make this a must read despite the inaccuracies in military jargon and protocol.

Alexia and Blake’s romance grabs you from their start. Their chemistry is off the charts and their banter is sexy and fun, but there is also a more serious and emotional component to their connection. Moreover, they demonstrate the extent to which highly intelligent and capable individuals can be blind to the truth that is right in front of them. Thankfully, their idiocy is short-lived and even somewhat cute, and their angst ultimately heightens the tension toward the end.

The minor action plot isn’t exactly the most thrilling, but is does add an element of excitement and adventure that compliments the romance.

All in all, an entertaining way to spend a few hours and I’m eager to continue with this steamy series. ( )

I got this book because it was offered free and I thought, why not. It's not something I would normally read, so I wasn't expecting to like it much. Happily, I liked it very much. It was sweet, romantic, frustrating, sexy, maddening, and eye opening. There is a very good man, hurt deep from a greta loss and a intelligent woman damaged by her controlling family. Together, perhaps they can find a way to happiness. The perfect summer read.
The characters are very intelligent, strong, sexual, and yet sometimes dumb arses. I really liked how the author paid respect to both their jobs and their reasoning. She gave the Navy Seals a big bow to the depth of sacrifice in all areas of their lives to protect and serve. I never considered the cost of our service men and women in their person lives, it is huge. ( )
