After stumbling onto Chloe Cole’s Rock Hard series by chance one lazy afternoon I quickly devoured books one and two so when I had the chance to review book three, Tai’s story, I anxiously jumped at the chance. While it is not a necessity to have read books one and two, we are given a hint of something in Tai’s past that has hurt him deeply. The first two books are enjoyable and I feel reading them together will paint the entire picture.
Taming Tai is an emotionally charged story of two young lovers who are torn apart by lies and deceit. A lot of emotions are brought forth in this story; confusion, anger, devastation, heartbrokenness but also raw passion which led to some very steamy scenes. Hopefully these two can overcome all the adversity facing them and come to peace with themselves and each other.
The story is being told in both characters point of view which made the story read very smoothly. I enjoyed being able to hear the inner dialogue of both characters. It gave the perfect insight into how both Tai and Christa were feeling. I came to respect Christa’s character. She showed a lot of determination and perseverance in not only attempting to locate Tai over the course of 10 years but also having the courage to reach out to him not knowing what kind of a welcome she would receive.
Sometimes when we read about celebrities the story may take on a bit of an unrealistic, perhaps even larger than life, feel to it but Ms. Cole did a superb job developing these characters into average, down to earth everyday people you can easily see yourself interacting with on day to day level.
The only regret I have for this story is that it was too short. Despite wanting the story to never end, overall I did enjoy it tremendously and look forward to more of what Ms. Cole has to offer in the future. ( )
