Another thing that I liked about the book thunderstorm is the book shows the characteristics of a thunderstorm like tornadoes , rain, thunder, lightning. Overall, I really liked the book Thunderstorm and I think that readers who are not well versed in thunderstorms would be able to look at this book and gain a lot of information. I enjoyed this book because of the timeline it gave, and the illustrations show the insides of trees, burrows, and the house to show what they do during a storm. Each page had a time stamp that showed what was happening at the specific time. This can show children how quickly a storm comes on and passes. The illustrations are wonderful because they have so much detail to explain the event. They even show bunnies going into their burrow, and raccoons going into a tree to stay safe. I lile that this is shown because it is not only humans who take cover and prepare for a thunderstorm. I gave this wordless picture book a 5/5 rating because the images are very detailed throughout the story. The book starts off at a farm and the people on the farm are preparing for the thunderstorm to arrive. There are images of animals hiding in their homes during the storm. ELL are able to read this book and identify the problem along with the setting. After looking through the pages of “Thunderstorm” by Arthur Geisert, I can assure that this book is great to evaluate the setting and chronological order of natural disasters. This book gives time references as how thunderstorms form; it shows how it alters people’s feelings and can ruin houses and living places. I believe this book would be essential for a science class or just a regular class that teaches children of any ages how to prepare for the arrival of a thunderstorm or any kind of natural disaster. From reading this book, children will learn the importance of being prepared for any tragedy and teamwork is essential to make things better. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
