Two executives who used to work for Charles Dean are murdered - is there a connection. Mara Mann, who works for Dean determines to find the truth. And what part does Vice President, Reid Dalton play. ( ) Stone Cold is a complex, plot-driven story of power, corruption, and deceit. Hilborne does a great job of fitting the pieces together a little at a time, allowing the story to unfold while keeping readers guessing. There are a lot of characters, none standing out specifically as a main character. Also, I didn't particularly like most of the characters. This was due to the nature of the story, and not a fault of the author. The combination made it difficult for me to connect, since my preferences lean more toward character-driven fiction. Overall, this is a perfect book for readers looking for a well written story with an intricate plot.
perhaps a series might be forthcoming in the future. There are definitely enough interesting characters for that to become a reality. Whether or not that happens, Stone Cold is a solid read, a great suspense that will take you into the sordid world of corporate corruption, BDSM, and the criminal mind.
