Janet Albright prefers her men submissive, her relationships confined to a club environment. Which is why her attraction to former Navy SEAL Maxwell Ackerman doesn't make a lot of sense. There isn't a submissive bone in his honed, muscular body, suggesting that her interest in Kensington & Associate's head limo driver is best indulged as a private fantasy. The problem is, after a crisis situation reveals a different side of them both, the attraction becomes mutual and undeniable. They take the plunge, willing to see if the give-and-take of their unexpected relationship can satisfy their deepest desires. This is the final story for the Knights of the Boardroom series, which is very sad. I have loved this series so much and like all series that we come to love we hate to leave the characters behind. The main characters in this story are no exception. Max Ackerman and Janet Albright are both wounded souls that are in need of championship and a connection that is more than superficial. While max Ackerman is a SEAL and trained to handle any situation he is still struggling with what happened to his mother and sister. I fell in love with Max from the very first time he appeared in this series. He has always been the quite, strong male that takes care of the women of the Knights. He is compassionate and tough. Strong and vulnerable. He is also very willing to experiment with Janet. While he isn't submissive he is willing to let Janet take the reins that Master him in small and very arousing ways. Max also has a wonderful sense of humor which shows in his interactions with Dana and Janet.

Janet has also been around throughout the series. She has ruled the executive floor of K&A with an iron fist in a velvet glove. I loved Ben’s nickname for her. Janet is also tough and compassionate. She is a good listener and confidant for the men she works for. While she has some really horrible things in her past she has tried to take them in stride and not them define her. She has a full life before she decides to find out if she and Max can make a go of being together. The last few chapters were a little shaky about if they would stay together but it does work out so hang in there until the end. I liked Janet very much.

This story more than any of the others shows what an outstanding man Matt Kensington really is. We have all known since the first book but what he does for these two people makes him outstanding in my book. To explain more fully would give away important parts of the story so you will just have to read the series to understand. I was very pleased that we got to read about the birth of his daughter. I do feel sorry for any male that tries to date her though. We all get to see the engagement of Ben and Marcie. I am glad that Ben is working out his problems and Marcie is keeping him in line.

While this book did have me crying over several chapters I think that it is one of the best books Joey W. Hill has written. There is a flow to the story that makes it hard to find a place to stop so one can eat of sleep. You have to see what is going to happen next. That, of course, is the mark of any good story but there is more to this. These two people are so in need of each other that you are drawn to find out if they can make it work. There are also the secrets each is holding. While there are hints you feel the need to find out what happen to them and try to make it better. As always there are some really hot BDSM scenes with these two. There are toys, spanking and some bondage. Nothing like is Ben’s story since Janet isn't that type of Mistress. This is a very good story and a wonderful ending to the series. ( )

Willing Sacrifice is the sixth book in the Knights of the Board Room series by Joey W. Hill. I chose this book because it is out of my comfort zone. I like male domination stories not female domination stories. However, I was very surprised with this story. While this is this is part of a series it can be read and enjoyed as a standalone novel.

Janet has a nickname of Ice Queen. She has been hurt in ways while on one hand is realistic but on the other hand is hard to believe someone would do that to another. She is a wonderful combination hard and soft. Max really makes this story. While Max is no sub, not now nor in the future will he ever be. He seems to enjoy Janet meeting her needs and indulging him with his after.

The chemistry between Janet and Max is explosive. The sex between Janet and Max is off the charts. I enjoyed the compromise Janet and Max came to so they could be together. I enjoyed that Janet respected Max, his needs and met her own needs as well.

This is one of the few stories that there is nothing that I would change with this story. Overall, this was a surprisingly wonderful story. I enjoyed this much more than I expected too. Now I plan on going back and reading the books I missed in the series. ( )
