Overall, I enjoyed this entire book, but my favorite poem was "In My House". I love that the author sais "My ______ my _________ he lives in my house.". These words were used to talk about many people, like uncles, grandmas mothers and cousins. I think the way the words were used and how there was a space between them and the rest of the poem drew my attention. I could definitely relate to this poem, as house is usually filled with people, whether it be boyfriends of my sister, aunts, my nephew, grandparents and cousins. They was it was emphasized, I could sense the love and appreciation Deshown has for his family. ( ) This book may be written in poetry but it tells a long story of a young boy named Deshawn. He talks about where he lives and who he lives with. He discusses his fears, hopes, and dreams. He talks about the lost of a loved one and how his mother comforts him. Some children may be able to relate to this book, while others may just enjoy Deshawn's story. It shows the reader that family can be a big influence to what you think you can do in life. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
