I love the fresh creativity, the way the reader (child or adult) is provoked to stretch their imagination, to think 'outside the box,' but I don't think this actually succeeds at that, for most readers anyway. The pictures purport to represent *something* - and so I find myself squinting at them, trying to see in them some correspondence to the text. I'd rather read the poem unillustrated and make up my own pictures for it. 8 for sand counting out the hours." Huh? Given my imagination, I can have fun with that. Given the illustration reining in my imagination, I can't." geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
This book presents children with the opportunity to go beyond simply learning to count from zero to ten. It encourages very young children (and older ones as well) to create their own meanings and make their own connections between the text and the art. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |

This book is silly and a little creepy! The images and strange and surreal, with ridiculous scenarios. For exams, the number 6 is for the three musketeers in front of a mirror. I like the illustrations a lot and the little poems are silly and would be very entertaining for a class of kindergarteners. ( )
