Summary: A boy discovers a duck in his fridge. Soon there are more ducks, and the only thing they are interested in is having fun. So the boy gets some dogs to scare them away... however, more and more animals arrive instead. Soon there is a party. Will he ever get to bed?

This is almost a wild fantasy. A father reads Mother Goose to his son for bedtime because he once found a duck in the fridge. The duck event started a chain of events with lots of animals filling the house. This book is really not good for bedtime because it is quite chaotic. It is full of activity. The illustrations are busy and cartoon like with speech bubbles. This might be fun for read aloud when it is not quiet time. Good discussion for asking - what would you do?

It was OK, I felt like I was tripping over the story with the combination of narrative and speech bubbles. One or two reads and back to the library is plenty. ( )
