When the hero thought his mate was dead, it absolutely devastated him. But on a routine stakeout he sees her again. He's stunned to his core but beyond happy. His wolf takes over and he'll do anything to have her back in his arms. The heroine has just woken up from a deep sleep put on her by a witch. She has no memories of the male who claims her for his mate but from the instant she sees him she feels that bond. That was the thing about this book, it seems like there was little to no character development. The heroine instantly knows that the hero is her mate, she never fights him. That is nice, however it makes for a very one note story. There was very little conflict either between the main characters themselves and the enemy they had to face. The hero was your typical possessive werewolf with all the by the book character traits that I love. The heroine was amazing. She was just as if not more, possessive of the hero than he was of her. I was fascinated by the furious anger she had whenever someone endangered her mate- it was so great to read about that in the heroine and not just in the hero. The plot I thought was pretty weak. Something about a witch and a vampire who wants the heroines blood. Honestly most of the book is spent of the other minor characters and their point of view about the fight. Over all I enjoyed this book but it wasn't anything special. Reviewed by: Rabid Reads. I knew from the previous installment that HUNTER REBORN was going to home in on Katie Reus’ vampires, and that was a tad worrisome because I LOVE her werewolves. Well, it turns out that I enjoyed her bloodsuckers almost as much, especially with Larissa at the helm. There were several romances unfolding in conjunction with the central one so that kept things interesting, and the story had some Vlad flair to it which unequivocally equals action as anyone who’s even remotely familiar with the Impaler will affirm. It’s tough to maintain the same level of world-building after five books, particularly in Paranormal Romance, but somehow this author accomplishes it. I was impressed with her fang mythology, and will be holding out for more in subsequent MOON SHIFTER novels. The lore encompassing the Brethren was clever as was the role that the heroine’s abilities played in crushing the plot’s antagonist. I was happy with the way that Reus incorporated all of this series’ previous main characters while also simultaneously adding new ones. Originally I thought that this was going to be Ryan and Teresa’s tale because of the introductory chapters, and the fact that I didn’t read the blurb (my bad). I was hoping for more quality time with the werewolf cowboy hacker; however as far as side threads go, it was a good one. I also enjoyed the cute sparks between Lucas & Vivian, the cubs that the pack adopted, as well as Natalie & Aldric’s burgeoning flirtations. It’s hard to pinpoint who’ll be the next couple to get their HEA, but I like the candidates so far. Second chance romances have been growing on me in recent years, maybe it’s an age thing, either way Reus knows how to sate her readers’ thirst for PNR. Larissa’s been in stasis for sixty years which made her POV quite humorous because on top of having to reconnect with Aiden, she had to decipher twenty first century tech. The compulsory between the sheets romp doesn’t go down until the last chapter, although there was lots of heavy petting along the way, so you’re not left completely high and dry on steam. HUNTER REBORN wasn’t my favourite MOON SHIFTER installment, but it’s in my top three. ~ 4.5 stars While investigating the trafficking of vampire blood, wolf shifter Aiden Nicholl, encounters his vampire bondmate, Larissa Danesti, he thought was dead. I loved Aiden and Larissa’s Story. Kate Reus wrote an incredible novel that was full of action and surprises. Aiden is a worthy hero. He is strong and caring. I enjoy his personality and the reasons why he antagonizes his fellow male pack mates. He has never stopped loving Larissa; I felt for all he suffered. Larissa is a well-developed and likeable heroine. I loved her ancestry and supernatural abilities. After being placed in stasis, she handles her reintroduction to the world well. I appreciated her insecurities. Reus also does an exception job with the side stories and including old characters, while introducing new ones. I enjoyed how little details play out throughout the novel. Hunter reborn is a great addition to the Moon Shifter series. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

The thrilling new Moon Shifter novel from New York Times bestselling author Katie Reus. Losing her was the hardest thing he'd ever endured.... Decades ago, they'd defied their powerful families to be together, but then Larissa disappeared without a trace. When their mating link broke, it nearly destroyed Aiden. Now she's back with no memory of where she's been. Even more shattering--Larissa claims she has no idea who Aiden is. Now she's back.... It's a race against time to bring down an operation more evil than his pack ever suspected, and Aiden finds himself working side by side with a mate who no longer trusts him--and she wants out. But he lost her once, and he won't let her go again. Unfortunately, Larissa's blood is the key to a powerful monster's dangerous plan--and he'll stop at nothing to destroy her, sparking off a war between the supernaturals and humans that no one will win. Larissa was awakened by a not so ‘good’ witch after being in stasis for 60 years to a world that is totally unlike the one she remembers, from cell phones, to clothes and the way people act around her. She is to put it mildly in shock and in fear of being with Aiden even though she feels the bond and knows that she should trust him, she does not remember him.
Throughout the story, memories are revealed, darkness is brought upon the pack and the couple as the evil behind the death of Larissa’s parents and the reason she is really awakened is revealed. My favorite parts are the weird blood drinking crap, but hey that is why I love Katie, she gets me! (that part in the cave under the house was the best) LOL
We also get a glimpse into Ryan and Theresa’s story, which I am hoping in the next editions we get the full scoop. This book, like the rest kept me turning the pages with eagerness to find out what will happen next and if Aiden and Larissa will make it to their Happy Ever After!…. You will have to read it to find out!
