How Strong Is an Ant? is a great informational book that helps children to learn about ants as well as other bugs and insects. I really liked this book due to the subtitles on each page. Each page begins with a big, bold question that catches the reader's eye. For example, one of the pages ask in bright red at the top of the page "Can all insects fly?" These beginning questions get the reader wondering what the answer is and excited to find out, while also giving them a clue about what the page will be about. I also found the illustrations very helpful as well. For example, one of the pages explains metamorphosis. Underneath the text are pictures of each stage of metamorphosis, along with the stage labeled underneath the picture. These illustrations help the reader visual each stage, and since the label is there as well, they will easily connect the stage to the picture, which will make learning so much easier. Overall, the big idea is to inform the reader about different bugs: what they do, where they live, and how they grow. After reading the book, they will be able to take all this new information with them into the world. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
