Elementally Priceless by Shannon Mayer is a fun novella serving as a prequel to both her Rylee Adamson Tracker series and her Elemental series. It tells the story of Rylee's first salvage on her own and skillfully interweaves Larkspur, the star of the Elemental series, into the tale. A very light and quick paced story that serves as a good "palate cleanser" between heavier books. I loved it and will now add the Elemental series to my collection. Prequel to the Rylee Adamson series that takes us back to Rylee’s first attempt to Track on her own at the age of 19. This is probably not a great place to start as it helps if you already know more about Rylee’s abilities before reading this story. The series starts off focusing on Tracking missing children with a back story of a powerful vampire who wants her bound to him without us or Rylee knowing why. As the series progresses—I’d just finished reading Shadowed Threads (book 4) before starting this—more of the back story moves to the forefront. This particular story not only gives us an adventure with Rylee’s first time out on her own, but we meet Larkspur, an elemental who will apparently be important by the end of the series, as is the child they are Tracking. The actions and situations in this story made things somewhat clearer, at least to where I’m at in the series. The story switches back and forth between Rylee’s and Larkspur’s first person point of view. I love the action and the philosophical aspects that are a big part of the series, of doing what you know in your heart is right, even though the consequences could destroy you in some way. If you’re enjoying the series, you will definitely like this story. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
Onderdeel van de reeks(en)Rylee Adamson (0.5)
A Novella in the Rylee Adamson Series... My name is Rylee, and I am a Tracker. When children go missing, and the Humans have no leads, I'm the one they call. I am their last hope in bringing home the lost ones. I salvage what they cannot. When the dust settles, my heart feels as though it will never be pieced back together. But there are too many lives riding on my ability to function at my best. So, I push through. And I find that I still have some fight left in me. Now I have one last task before I can rest: to find the simple ingredients of a spell. A spell that will help heal much of my wounds. But it is not only my injuries that I have to stitch closed. My sister's wounds have broken open... and perhaps most surprising of all so do another vampire's. Faris. Performed by Nora Achrati, Yasmin Tuazon, Donald Guzzi, Terence Aselford, David Jourdan, Chris Stinson, Christopher Williams, Nanette Savard, Kay Eluvian, Daniel Llaca, Colleen Delany, Chris Genebach, and Brandon Burton. SPOILERS FOR THIS BOOK AND THE REST OF THE SERIES.
Jeez so much information. Lark was banished because of Rylee?
Fucking Faris. Has his bloody hands in every pie. Even this far back - trying to seduce Milly - I wonder when he actually caught her in his web.
Hey that answers that question. Where do the supernatural bodies go when they die? Lark. It's really amusing how it all connects and entwines and makes a big ass puzzle.
Jeez it's like reading about Pamela. The questions. Trying to be helpful but finding you've accidentally alerted everyone to your presence.
Too much for my brain to process.
