Such a cute book! This book would be great to use in a lesson on punctuation. It's also a great book to use to start conversations about how everyone has their own strengths and things that they are good at, and everyone is unique in their own way! I also love the non-fiction connection in the back of the book that provides facts about the different insects that showed up in the book.

Fly! by Karl Newsom Edwards is a sweet story about a fly who discovers what is special about her. This simple but eloquently written book will inspire our youngest learners to appreciate their gifts. The last two pages of the book include bug facts for all of those insect enthusiasts out there! As a teacher of young children, I can see using this mentor text to inspire writers to use vivid verbs and to incorporate nonfiction facts into a storybook format. ( )
