Three sorority sisters will seek out a notorious womanizer on campus and-unbeknownst their "mark"-secretly train him to be the perfect boyfriend. Always up for a challenge, Harper targets the biggest player she can find: Brax's wickedly handsome foster brother Kane McCarthy. But, Harper discovers there's much more to Kane than girls, games, and partying. His easy smile belies the quiet, old soul reflected in his deep brown eyes. All it takes is one night, one secret laid bare, and one kiss from Kane to shift Harper's world on its axis. Suddenly, the girl who's always walked a straight and narrow path can't think of anything else except losing control.… (meer)

Although this review does not contain spoilers, it may contain spoilers from Stupid Girl, which is, book one in the series!

We are back at Winston University fall semester, the Kappa’s have once again humiliated another girl thanks to their annual dare and the Deltas president Harper Belle has had enough and seeks revenge but coming up with their own dare – A Bad Boy Reformation. Three Deltas would select three “subjects” to reform from bad boy Kappa to a better man, leaving the Kappas short handed.

Harper Belle is the president of the Deltas. She is perceived as a rich snob and Miss Goody Good Two Shoes. But deep down she’s gone through hell, at a young age she witnessed her parents murder then she was forced to live with her grandmother Corinne Belle who is like the devil. She was a really evil old woman, who scared Harper terribly. She never allowed her to mourn her parents, burnt any pictures of her parents and changed Harper’s name to Belle so that she would be Belle. She must live up to the Belle name or her grandmother would have her locked up in an asylum.

Then there’s Kane (he is Brax’s, from Stupid Girl), big brother form foster care). He’s tall and has smoky brown eyes (we hear this repeatedly whenever Kane is mentioned) and is quiet compared to Brax. He is also very smart and runs numbers for the Kappas although he does not attend Winston. He is the perfect choice for the Delta dare so Harper selects him for her test subject.

Kane can see through Harper’s persona in public. He knows there is more to her then she’s letting on. He can see the same fear and demons he’s fighting in her. It’s what draws their connection. I liked seeing Harper’s walls come down every time she was around Kane because I felt like I was finally starting to get to know her. I wanted to know exactly what she had gone through so I could understand why she is the way she is.

However, with Kane he was truly quiet throughout the book. Some of his history was mentioned but not much of it and it left me wondering about his past. I also felt like I couldn’t connect with Kane because he was so quiet, I felt like the only thing I could really tell you about Kane were the color of his eyes because that’s mentioned a million times throughout the book. I wish there had been more dialogue or even more of his story so I could fully understand him and fall for him.

The story was a bit slow for me; I was skimming through pages because I found myself bored with the story. It seemed like parts of the story were missing and the ending was a bit abrupt for me. I wanted more of Kane’s voice. I liked Kane’s chapters a lot but I wish there was more of it. I wanted to get inside his brain and see how he felt about things. It would’ve made the story that much enjoyable. I liked Kane and Harper together; I thought they made a good couple because during the times they were together I could feel some of the connection they had. I also had questions about what happened with them that I’m hoping will be answered in Stupid Love. But to be truly honest, I’m not too sure how the title fit the story. I may have to re-read it to see how but I didn’t feel it deserved the title Stupid boy. It just wasn’t fitting for me.

I loved seeing Brax and Olivia throughout the book. I honestly thought Stupid Boy was Brax’s point of view of things with Olivia so I was bit disappointed to be honest but just seeing Brax and Olivia made the story better.

Would I recommend this? Sure, parts were enjoyable and the story has potential. I’m looking forward to Stupid Love just to see where this series is headed before I give it up on it completely.

Excellent read! This is a sequel to Stupid Girl. While it can be read standalone you'll really understand all the characters more if you read both books. Kane McCarthy is new on campus but his bad boy persona grabs the interest of Harper Belle, Winston's perfect girl. What they both want is to keep their ugly pasts firmly in the past. What they need is each other.

This is an excellent story and the characters are incredibly intriguing. I definitely recommend this one. ( )
