The story is comical, and draws the reader in. The story is about backwards day. For example, Huckle and Lowly worm eat ice cream for breakfast instead of having it for dessert. The characters go backwards down the slide, and walk backwards down the stairs. The story is simple and easy to read. Having simple text for young readers is beneficial in that they can develop early literacy skills. The text is intermingled with the illustrations to introduce reader to help the students achieve reading proficiency. The book is a leveled reader. Unlike other Richard Scarry books this one is not written by Richard Scarry. The writing flow of the story is well developed with action happening on each page. Some words are spelled backwards on purpose. Simple word puzzles along with the hilarious illustrations are what makes this book a great addition to any classroom. The overall message of the story is that doing everything backwards sounds fun, but is exhausting in real life. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
