This was such a compelling story that I read it in one day. And yet so little happened - it's very much a middle book, as Morgan finds out more about his new self and his friends start seeing the repercussions too. The scenes where he meets his friends again are very rich (though confusing, to me - Morgan seems to get it eventually, but I'm still uncertain about why some of the reactions happened, even after explanations). The genets develop some more too. The vault is rather amazing. But Morgan is rather dense about the darkness in people, and I'm not really surprised at the ending. Which isn't much of an ending, this one really is a cliffhanger - imminent destruction and all. I need the next book. ( )
