I liked this book because I felt like it was very different from some of the other ones I have read. The story follows a little boy who lives in France, and takes the reader through a typical day. This book is outdated since it was published in 1969, but could still be used to teach children about another culture. The main character is relatable for children since he is a child himself, who goes to school, plays with his friends, etc. This book gives children an opportunity to realize that children from other countries are just like them! However, this book also highlights some differences, like how children from France go to school on Saturday. The language of the book was clearly written, and gave definitions for French words that some people from the US, or anywhere else in the world, may not know. In all, I think the main idea of this book was to inform the reader on French customs, but also make children aware that children from other parts of the world are just like them in a lot of ways.
