I recieved this in exchange for an honest review via NetGalley. I really liked this one! To me, it was like a mix between the Winchester brothers (Supernatural) and Locke and Key by Joe Hill. This is a family of hunters. Not just any hunters though, hunters of monsters. The patriarch of the unit has been trying to lay low, and hasn't wanted to get his children involved in the family business. Circumstances arise, however, and he is forced to bring them up to speed. Vivian, his daughter, has the ability to see what people will look like in their future. Geoff, his son, has the ability to see who or what is haunting someone. His ex-partner is a werewolf and the family is being hunted down by a man with half of a face. If you like graphic novels and stores that are just a little twisted, I recommend picking this one up! I look forward to reading more from Niles in the future! FGMAMTC Blog Review My review is for the 152 page paperback coming out August 11, 2015. For some reason even when I find the correct one, http://www.amazon.com/October-Faction-Volume-Steve-Niles/dp/163140251X Goodreads keeps switching me to a different single issue comic. I loved the storyline and the art style. It's full of creepiness and dark comedy and the perfect hodgepodge of paranormal and supernatural. There's action, whit and mystery. I'm not going to even pretend to know which direction the next book will go. I'm most curious about the "Mama" character and the why's behind the behaviors of some. Bits of the history of the older generation of hunters are given by way of flashbacks, and inside stories about the younger generation are shown. Both left me wanting to know more. Several different types of not-exactly-human creatures have roles and murders do happen. Although the tone is darkish, it isn't actually scary or gory, and even though they wouldn't fit society's definition of "good" people, you find yourself rooting for the family. I definitely plan to continue the series. ***Copy given in exchange for an honest review*** toni FangirlMoments and My Two Cents geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

This volume is s good start to a new series, and I'm eager to see what happens next with this gothy family of monster hunters. ( )
