I can't rate this because I don't have any autistic family members, though it's arguable that all but one of us is on the Asperger's scale, the exception having had other issues entirely. The content seems valid and except for one major issue would be well presented - but the constant beat of -brother or sister-, -he or she-, -his or hers-, -him or her-, -himself or herself- just got more or more grating. It all reduced to he, his, him, himself and thus lost the point. Maybe it would have worked better as a double thick - one side being all male the other all female. The information seems good and at about the right level of detail for 8-12.

This is an excellent teaching book for siblings (and classmates) of children with autism. It is written so children can understand more about the behaviors of their siblings and why they do what they do. This is not a picture book- but rather a book for typical children around 8years and older. ( )

This book is different! It is specially designed to give answers to the many questions of brothers and sisters of young people on the autistic spectrum. As well as explaining the characteristics of autism, it is full of helpful suggestions for making family life more comfortable for everyone concerned.

Warm informative guide to autism for the young siblings of children on the autistic spectrum. A few of the illustrations, which are largely decorative, were confusing to me and it is only this that mars the perfection of this book. ( )
