I think "Absolutely One Thing" is a great book to read to children as they are learning numbers and how to count. It shows them that counting can be fun, and that you can practice it everywhere you go. Personally I think making math connect to ELA can be very beneficial to students because they can make their own connections to help remember the material. ( )
