OMD! [b: Sing Me To Sleep|6586512|Sing Me to Sleep|Angela Morrison|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1313598234s/6586512.jpg|6780029] by [a: Chris Simms|401212|Chris Simms|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1327493461p2/401212.jpg] is an astounding read!

I got this as a free or discounted e-book, Kindle edition, via Amazon.com. Mystery, history, ghost story, women's issues, mental health, empty nest syndrome. May-December marriage, child abuse, archaeology, and the supernatural.

"Sing Me To Sleep" is a well written and extraordinary work. While reading on my Kindle I do not see page numbers, only a percentage of how far I read. It stunned me to realize that this novel is only 217 pages. [a: Chris Simms|401212|Chris Simms|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1327493461p2/401212.jpg] used his words well.

When I love a book, sometimes finishing it is difficult. I did not want to leave the aura of this story. Even when it seemed the tale ended, it was thrilling to find a few more pages. I left [b: Sing Me To Sleep|6586512|Sing Me to Sleep|Angela Morrison|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1313598234s/6586512.jpg|6780029] a different person. It is not for the feint of heart.

Chris could have ended the tale of Laura, Owen and Lantern College two chapters before he did. Instead, he served desert with an already satisfying meal.

Ending this type of book can be difficult. If it was hard, Mr. Simms did not let it show. I loved the grand finale!

Wow, Wow, Wow. This would have gotten ten stars if that were possible. I cannot wait to read more of [a: Chris Simms|401212|Chris Simms|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1327493461p2/401212.jpg].

This was an interesting book for me. Not really what I was expecting but I enjoyed it. I did go back and forth on how much I liked the characters. They were likable people. I just am still not certain if I would make friends with them. lol. The plot was good. I was very interested in how it would end. I don't want to say anything about the ending though. I did find it a slow read...the kind I like on a gloomy day. I would recommend it for rainy day reading. ( )

Laura and her somewhat elderly husband Owen have moved from Richmond to a little village outside Manchester so that Owen can pursue his masterly conducting career and leave a rather frail lonely, and previously ill wife at home (well done Owen) The cottage they now live in appears to have questionable links to the previous owners and their son William. Laura feels something or someone is haunting both her and the cottage.... and good old Owen doesn’t give a **ck!

This is a below average horror story that for a limited period is a free download for the kindle (thank goodness it was free) and Chris Simms the author is a much respected crime writer “Outside the White Lines” was an excellent debut. However Sing me to Sleep is a very poor example of a haunted house/haunted community story, I recently read The Moorstone Sickness, and Sweetheart Sweetheart by the brilliant and often disregarded Bernard Taylor (both reviewed by me) They are astounding horror/suspense stories building rhythm and characters slowly and methodically expertly concluding in the most surprising and horrific manner.....I urge you to search out and read rather than waste your time on this inferior story.
