From a meticulous ethnographic and linguistic research of the most representative oral tradition stories of the country, Fabio Morbito brings together in this anthology 125 stories from regions ranging from Sonora to Chiapas, from the Tarahumara to the Chontales and, beyond that, venture into California and New Mexico, to reappear later in Veracruz and Quertaro. These stories that were chosen are accompanied by illustrations that were made by eight Mexican illustrators and that also offer a vision on ancestral topics that have remained as traditions in the Mexican country: the creation of the world, the birth of the sun and moon, the birth of the first man, the rise of cities, as well as the stories where humor and cleverness are the main topics.
