Desperate for a job, she turns to the one man she wishes she could avoid. The man who rocked her world one wild night and then walked right out of it. Former Marine Noah Tager is managing his dad's bar and holding tight to the feeling that his time overseas led to failure. The members of his small town think he's a war hero, but after everything he's witnessed, Noah doesn't want a pat on the back. The only thing he desires is a second chance with his best friend's little sister. Straight forward 2nd chance romance. Also, a best friends little sister romance so its a 2-fer! I enjoyed Josie and Noah. Noah has the tortured hero thing and Josie was a wild kid who has come home a bit tattered. Predictable? Sure. But, the book kept me reading and I finished it pretty quickly! Full review will be on the blog ( )

Sexual chemistry, intense suspense, good build of future characters. . .
I got what I have been waiting for. Josie a little older and not so sure on wiser and then Noah older, sexier, stronger, and still a protector. I could not wait to pick this one up and read it after finishing the prequel, Running Wild. I loved stepping back into their lives and seeing just how much they had grown in five years.

The are some fresh characters introduced. Get set up to future books. There are great scenes. The build of suspense keeps me on my edge. But the ending was lacking something. My anticipation was much higher than what I was served. ( )

I loved Running Wild, which is the prequel to Serving Trouble; so that already set this book up to a high standard! Did Serving Trouble live up to it….well you will have to read on to find out…

When your life has fallen apart and you feel defeated, what is the one thing that we all do…we go home and that is exactly what Josie Fairmore has done. But now she needs a job to pay off the large amount of hospital debt and she goes to the one person who offered to always help her…Noah Tager and after 5 years she hoped that was still true!

The last person Noah Tager expected to turn up at his bar looking for a job was the one women he could never get out of his head! Not matter how hard he tried! But standing right in front of him was the even more stunning Josie Fairmore.

Even though they are both now back home, both of them are struggling with what haunts them but slowly they find each other again…that is until danger rears its ugly head again and Noah is determined to keep Josie safe, so he can finally have his second chance, that he has always wanted.

I am going to be blunt, I read read this book 3 time in a row! NOT because it was bad! But because it was so beautiful that I honestly couldn't get it out of my head! To say that I had a bad case of book hangover is honestly an understatement. This book is both gripping and heart breaking! From when Josie tells Noah and then her father (much later in the book) her truth and why she came home, I cried so hard! It was truly a heartbreaking moment for me! But then there was lots of fun and light hearted moment, especially when Daphne was in the picture! That women is the perfect mixture of sassy and sense! I love her! I will give you one quick teaser about this book and you will know what it means if you have read Running Wild…we see the bull again!!

There are so many characters that I absolutely love in this book, that I honestly could go on forever about how great they all are! But I want to move on to the other components of this book such as the writing and the storyline. The writing is magnificent as pretty much every Sara Jane Stone book is and I am highly jealous of that! But I think you can also feel her passion though her books.

This plot; much like every other Sara Jane Stone book that I have read, has a military influence running though it, but it doesn't overwhelm the book or confuse me with military lingo. You can see the research the author has put into any main point of the book, she didn't guess or was vague but is detailed and precise and that is truly the mark of an amazing author and Sara Jane Stone is truly an amazing author.

I give Serving Trouble 5 stars! ( )

Serving Trouble was a quick read, as it was an easy read. Unfortunately, I found the book lacking...something, I just can't put my finger on it. The characters were decent, the plot was alright, and the writing was good. But I just can't convince myself to love this book.

The connection between Josie and Noah didn't feel complete. I kept thinking I missed something. There were several moments in the book that ended up being very anticlimactic, which left me wanting more.

After a bit of research, I found out that this seems to be a spin-off of another series by this author. Which makes since. And there is a novella that was released the month before Serving Trouble was released...which covers Noah and Josie's history. Ahh. See, had I known, I might have felt a bit differently while reading. ( )

Ever since reading Running Wild, the prequel to this novel, I have been anxiously awaiting Noah and Josie's HEA. I can now say the wait was definitely worth it! I was hooked from page one and didn't want to put it down. Ms Stone's writing style creates characters that are easy to relate to and connect with through a wide range of emotions. I was in love with Noah right from the start. I loved the teasing banter and heartfelt moments between him and Josie. This is a must read for anyone who loves a strong heroine and a reluctant hero with a heart of gold.

ARC received in exchange for an honest review. ( )
