The Original Series is my favorite show of the Trek franchise. I imprinted young when I developed a crush on Captain Kirk at eleven. At it's best it could be amazing, and featured scripts by science fiction talents such as Theodore Sturgeon and Harlan Ellison.

Many of the best episodes were produced in the First Season, and these are both strong, memorable episodes. "Man Trap" was the first episode to be aired, and gives us a bit of Doctor McCoy's background and has some nice, small character moments for Uhura, Sulu and Rand. "The Naked Time" is a favorite episode of mine and important for establishing and deepening the characters of both Spock and Kirk. Besides, I thought Keven O'Reilly hilarious and am only sorry we didn't see more of him. And Uhura's comeback to Sulu calling her a "fair maiden?" One of the best lines in all of Trek. ( )
