Was this the best Quinn book that Brett Battles has written so far? No. But it remained on par with the rest of this extremely enjoyable series. Quinn remains one of my current favorite thriller characters and I eagerly await each new book in the series. What I think I find most interesting by this, the 10th entry in the series (setting aside short stories and prequels), is that Battles manages to keep the characters fresh and they continue to develop as people and in their relationships to one another. Not necessarily easy to do when dodging bullets and so forth. It's also a testament to Battles' skill as a writer than the conversations that the principal characters have feel ... real ... if that makes sense. Numerous times, I find myself almost able to anticipate how a character would respond or act because, over time, I've gotten to know them so well. I guess my only regrets with The Unleashed (don't worry, no real spoilers), were that two characters whose interactions are one of my favorite parts of the series, were mostly separated and ... oh, wait. Never mind. I said no spoilers, didn't I.

I continue to recommend this series very, very highly, but I strongly (STRONGLY) advise starting from the beginning. ( )
