As the ocean grows progressively more polluted, it becomes easier and easier to spot the three sea creatures. Eventually a massive friend, in the form of a whale, helps them with the trash cluttering up the ocean floor...

Starfish, Where Are You? is quite similar to its predecessor, both in theme and in structure. Young readers will enjoy searching for the three sea creatures here, just as they enjoyed hunting for the elephant, the parrot, and the snake in the previous title. The artwork is colorful and engaging, with the vibrant hues of the sea creatures contrasting nicely with more drab palette of the trash. The conclusion, in which the whale pushes the garbage back onto land where it belongs - where it originated - is a satisfying one, and serves as a lesson to young children that dumping in the ocean is an unfair practice, punishing sea life for our own human activities.
