The Cordoba Connection turned out to be much better than I thought it was going to be. To me it started out with a Muslim who wrote books about hate crimes but seemed to hate Muslims himself. But the story got better and better by the end. I think after finishing the story the author could have used one more time to go over the first part of the book. It did help give me an understanding of why and how so many people seem to hate and fear Muslims as a group, though I don't think the author intended for me to get to my conclusions the way he intended. This is an engaging and page-turning thriller about a serial killer motivated by hate. This difficult topic is sensitively handled by putting the targeted family at the heart of the story. They are well-drawn, unique and believable characters; the reader is able to care about them, and that is the main reason the book is suspenseful. Interesting cultural details, especially about Muslims in the southern USA.

I received a free copy of this book from LibraryThing Early Reviewers in exchange for an honest review.

A well written and intriguing story. Gabriel's wife died in the 9/11 attack, but he still talks to her as if she is right there. He believes Islam is a threat that must be stopped. He decapitates Muslim imams, then sends the press the details of the murder.
Ben is a former cop now an author of hate crimes is asked for his help with these crimes. He does not want to get involved, but has no choice when his family is kidnaped. What will happen when these two meet? This one will keep you turning the pages until the end.
I would like to thank C. terry Cline Jr. for writing the story, and the publisher for sending me a copy to review. ( )

I am in the process of reading this. I will finish it. Unfortunately, this is one of maybe three books I actually have to force myself to continue with. I find it slow paced and boring. I can't even fully articulate what it is about the book that I dislike so badly. As a concept, it seemed awesome and I was really excited to have won this, but find myself needing to walk away and read something I actually enjoy before continuing. ( )

For me the first half of this book was boring and really hard to get into. Starting from the middle on it really picked up the pace and then just abruptly ended. It usually takes me only a couple of days to read a book and this one took me 2 weeks. For this reason I only gave it 3½stars. I received this from LibraryThing Early Reviewer for an honest review.
