This book is a funny story about the weather and many different characters living in an apartment building. The book flips over and has a new title page and starts from the other side of the book. This book is almost two stories in one book that collide in the middle; I found it hysterical and fascinating! The illustrations in this book or vibrantly colored, and the language of the book brings you into the story. The characters in this story all live in an apartment building, and at the beginning of each story, they welcome the rain/the sun, but as the days grow longer, they start to complain about the weather and how they wish it were the other. The little boy complains to his dad, and in each story, the dad says, "rain brings sun and sun brings rain. Then it turns around again."
I would read this to my students as a fun book, I think they would enjoy the colors and vibrant language. ( )

"And Then It Rained... And Then the Sun Came Out" follows multiple characters in a busy city. In the beginning, it rains for days and people enjoy it. But, soon enough they are sick of the rain and want the sun to come out. The little boy asks his dad when the weather will change? And he replies,"Rain brings sun and sun brings rain." The reader must then flip the book over and read the sunny side. The same characters enjoy the sun, but soon change their mind again. I liked reading this book because it was very hands on and told two different stories. I think young children will like flipping the book upside down and seeing a new perspective. ( )

This story tells the mood of a city when the sun is out and when it rains. It follows different people around the city and shows what they are doing depending on the weather. When they start complaining about the weather it will eventually change and we flip the book over to see what happens next. ( )

And Then It Rained... And Then the Sun Came Out... follows several characters as they cope with the changing weather. Everyone enjoys being inside while the rain beats down outside. Soon the rain continues and the characters find themselves wishing for the rain to end. Then what I love most about this book, is that readers can flip it over to read what happens when the sun came out. The illustrations are colorfully and inviting which makes the book exciting to read. I would also use this book to get children to draw pictures or write about what they like to do when it rains and when the sun comes out compared to the story's characters. ( )
