And Then the Sun Came Out" follows multiple characters in a busy city. In the beginning, it rains for days and people enjoy it. But, soon enough they are sick of the rain and want the sun to come out. The little boy asks his dad when the weather will change? And he replies,"Rain brings sun and sun brings rain." The reader must then flip the book over and read the sunny side. The same characters enjoy the sun, but soon change their mind again. I liked reading this book because it was very hands on and told two different stories. I think young children will like flipping the book upside down and seeing a new perspective. And Then It Rained... And Then the Sun Came Out... follows several characters as they cope with the changing weather. Everyone enjoys being inside while the rain beats down outside. Soon the rain continues and the characters find themselves wishing for the rain to end. Then what I love most about this book, is that readers can flip it over to read what happens when the sun came out. The illustrations are colorfully and inviting which makes the book exciting to read. I would also use this book to get children to draw pictures or write about what they like to do when it rains and when the sun comes out compared to the story's characters. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
