I really like this one, and so does my son, who (I'm trying not to be a weirdo hypochondriac) is SO MUCH LIKE this car with ADHD. The way it paints a picture of Ott's life and "pit crew" (his parents and doctors and teacher who support him) is the best, and you start to get all kinds of ideas about ways of applying similar kinds of approaches over not only to taking your medicine if you have ADHD but brushing your teeth, listening to your parents, etc. ( ) ADHD is something that can be seen in kids very early on. This book, that is a little wordy and heavy for younger kids to read, is a great way to show a child through cars, something that they are familiar with, how their brain works and how it may be different than other kids. Age 6-7 Source - Pierce County Library Cute story! This is about a car who has hyperactivity, names Otto. He becomes aware that his is hyperactive and has to visit a special mechanic who gives him medicine to control his problem. Galvin uses personification with this book relating a child with this disorder to a car with the same thing. it helps children understand this at a differnt level, and become more aware of it. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
