One day a soldier comes to the house of Gabriel and his family and asks if they can store his horn that used to belong to his father, Big Daddy. He said it was very important that they keep it and not sell it in their antique store and if they do it will bring them good luck. Every time that Gabriel or his family does something for charity or to help another person, the horn gets a little shinier. When the soldier comes back for his horn 7 years later, the horn "shone brighter than a thousand suns". The soldier was so impressed by how shiny the horn was, implying that they did so many good deeds, that he told them to keep it.
This story has an amazing meaning in that if you do good things for people, you get good in return. Gabriel's family did so many good deeds for people out of the goodness of their heart, but they also got good things in return like success in their family business. ( )
