Two different stories emerge in this novel which blends historical fiction with the present day. Asked by her mother to see about a family cabin in desperate need of repair, Ragni encounters multiple problems. We see what these two women had in common and how they grew as they coped with the life they had been dealt. An entertaining tale, but somewhat clichéd in the path it took to its conclusion.
