However much more so than that seemingly primary point of the publication - It's really a pretty neat volume for historical, anthropological and archeological information on the region and period encompassing the diversity of culturally distinct peoples and political factions. Anyone looking for info on the basis of the Arthurian legend should probably check out more recent sources. As a concise and easy to read source for those aforementioned points however I found this book to be really pretty genuinely good, truly interesting and informative. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

In the minds of most the name 'King Arthur' conjures up images of an armour-clad king surrounded by his loyal knights. It is more likely that the real King Arthur, if he truly existed, was a Romano-British warlord in the dark days that followed the collapse or Roman rule in Britain. This book looks at the realities behind the myth of king Arthur against the backdrop of invasion as a nation was forged on the bloody anvil of war. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
