Cora is a mermaid who is very good at most things, especially swimming. The one thing she is not good at is spelling. She finds that she is going to have to improve her spelling if she is going to be on the swim team called the Singing Sirens. Cora finds a friend, a giant shrimp which was mutated by toxic waste. The story is cute and has black, white and blue illustrations on every page. This is a good beginning chapter book. (
