Love, love, love the art on this one, and the fun word play -- quite the tongue twister, though, and I'm not sure I'd try it as a storytime book. ( ) A greyhound, a groundhog by Emily Jenkins; illustrated by Chris Appelhans. 32 p. New York : Schwartz & Wade Books, 2017. ISBN 0553498053. Hardcover. This picture book has simple watercolour and pencil illustrations depicting the fun a greyhound and groundhog had together. Many of the greyhound's body positions would be recognised by those familiar with the breed. It is clear from both animals' happy facial expressions that they enjoyed each other's company. There is not too much text, which is of good size for children to read. Words are repetitive with many sounding the same. Some text curves with the flowing illustrations. A greyhound, a groundhog is an excellent read-aloud that would be enjoyed again and again. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
