I read this for the "An Author You Previously Disliked" part of my 2020 reading challenge. It was better than the last book I read, it displayed the information better and had a nicer layout. It was informative, but not overly gripping. ( ) The cartons are funny. The history is right .What else is no to love about this book .Not only did it intriguer me interest in how to build a pyramid. It also taught me how the life of a pyramid builder were .How they lived and only worked on the pyramid with the flooding season happened in Egypt. It also taught me not to work with a dull chisel and how the pyramid builders where worked till sundown everyday .Also how they got word to everything that was happening the the Kingdom to the King.By One person telling their higher official until word got the the king .Every day they did the same thing . The book start if with a very interesting timeline .It then moves on to tell you a little about everything. The builders home life. How the Kingdom was ran. A list of tools they needed and how to return then and much more .IT also gave information on how they got information around .It goes very briefly on how the we miss treated for talking back or trying to do anything out of the sorts.Ending with any amazing story on how they rapped the Pharaoh after death and his send off You would not want to be an pyramid builder in Ancient Egyptian …or would you? This historical, non-fiction picture book, describes the life of a pyramid builder--from the poor life and work conditions to the mummification process, it offers gruesome, yet, interesting facts that will keep kids entertained while learning . Though some of the text is conveyed in paragraph form, there are also simple facts and vocabulary interwoven within the full-page, semi-cartoon like illustrations. This additional text creates an easy to read format, while the pictures help to explain the unique concepts and terms. The book also offers a glossary and index for further research and clarification. Some of the details might be too icky for younger children.
