It explains subtle operations in a clear and friendly way ... and, believe me, I have bounced off plenty of books that profess to do just this and do not! Love seems to be a really good tech writer. He has both personality and clarity. I am looking forward to delving further into Linux kernel issues with this book. When I return it to the library I am going to put the new third edition on my "must buy" list.
