Filled with all the sounds of water in nature as the rain comes and goes and leaves a rainbow and sunshine. I think because this is such a wonderful read for a story time it makes me like it more than it might 'deserve'. I do think it has the potential to be a catalyst for several science, music, and English discussions. The nature sounds and rhyming work so well for the flow Drip Drop Plip Plop. It's a cute and whimsical story-love seeing the foxes being curious and playful. Watercolor illustrations provide a vivid visual of the landscape, the living creatures, and the changing scenes. Great back matter: 'Listen to the watersong'. This picture book simply makes me feel good, makes me smile. Each page has one to three words that can describe the sound of water, such as “spitter, spatter, splat”. It is a wonderful example of onomatopoeia! The words are not sight words but I can see the book being a welcome change from unattractive or oversimplified easy readers that are boring for young readers. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
